Self-Promoter

celeBlog Type 4: The Self-Promoter

It would be reasonable to conclude that every blog ever written by a celebrity falls under the category of self-promotion since the very act of writing a blog is an effort to get one's name and face out into cyberspace.

The ways celebrities choose to promote themselves are varied and creative at times. For musicians, blogs can be used to update fans on upcoming tour dates or when their next album will be released.

Actors can let their fans know when they'll be appearing on a television program:

Generally, this type of blog is another form of cheap and easy publicity.

Example celeBlogger: Courtney Love, musician, lead singer of the band Hole and widowed wife of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain.

While most celebrities are content to post their upcoming schedules along with occasional glimpses into their lives, Love seems determined to promote nothing in particular while simultaneously putting herself all over her blogs. She's had multiple blogs over the years, but the current incarnation is called "What Courtney Wore Today," where Love frequently posts photos of herself posing in various decor.
